The War Doctor

The War Doctor is a mysterious incarnation of the Doctor who fought in the Time War. He is not named as such in the episodes he appears in, but is referred to as the "Doctor" by his companions. He is a warrior who took up arms to fight in the Time War, and he disowned the title of "Doctor" because of the terrible things he did in the war. His subsequent incarnations view him with disdain, but the Eleventh Doctor eventually comes to see him as a hero.
